Are you passionate about driving sustainable change and empowering communities to embrace responsible waste practices? Consider becoming a Waste Education Officer at Bass Coast Shire Council.
The Waste Education Officer is responsible for educating our community on sustainable environmental practices and inspiring others to adopt eco-friendly habits. Your efforts will help cultivate a culture of sustainability, ensuring that we leave a cleaner, healthier planet for generations to come.
With a strong focus on waste management, you will influence and improve changes in behaviour patterns in relation to kerbside collection, waste minimisation and litter prevention. You will achieve this by providing specialist advice, leadership and assistance to internal staff and external stakeholders including community groups and schools.
As part of this multifaceted role, you will also identify external funding opportunities, submit grant applications, development educational campaigns and marketing strategies and review and implement policies and procedures relating to waste management.
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and a knack for engaging diverse communities. You should possess excellent communication and organisational skills, along with the ability to develop educational programs that resonate with various audiences.
