about this position

batyr’s Program Facilitators play a key role in delivering batyr’s preventative mental health education programs across secondary schools, universities, workplaces, and community settings.

This role involves facilitating and coordinating engaging and interactive sessions, creating safe spaces for open conversations about mental health, and ensuring young people feel heard and supported. Program Facilitators use a dynamic and conversational approach to connect with diverse audiences, adapting their facilitation style to meet different needs. They lead group activities, introduce and debrief stories shared by batyr’s lived-experience storytellers, and foster an environment where participants feel empowered to engage.

In addition to facilitation, Program Facilitators manage pre- and post-program administration to ensure smooth program delivery and measure impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver batyr’s engaging programs across multiple domains in a fun and impactful way.
  • Support program administration, including pre- and post-program tasks, logistical coordination, and impact measurement.
  • Attend and participate in individual and group training sessions as required.
  • Represent batyr’s values in interactions with both external stakeholders and the internal team.
  • Adhere to batyr policies and processes to ensure the safety, quality and impact of batyr’s programs.

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and facilitate group sessions, focusing on engaging participants.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement constructive feedback.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities.
  • Hold a current Working with Children Check or be willing to obtain one before starting the role.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.

Desirable Qualities:

  • Experience working with or engaging young people in educational or community settings, including delivering programs to large groups or audiences.
  • Experience working or studying in the mental health, social impact, or education sectors.
