<h3><strong>ABOUT YOU</strong></h3>
<p>You care deeply about young people&rsquo;s mental health, and want to work as part of a team that is fuelled by a passion for making a meaningful difference. You understand the value that young people, and people with lived experience can bring to the mental health sector. You are detail-oriented, and efficient, and you love administration and following a process. You also have skills in building connections with young people in a fun and engaging way</p>
<h3>POSITION SUMMARY</h3>
<p>batyr&rsquo;s Lived Experience team works alongside young people who have a lived experience of mental ill-health to ensure they feel heard and connected and supports them to transform their experiences into a tool for positive change. The Storytelling Coordinator is a core part of the Lived Experience team, which sits within batyr&rsquo;s Impact Team. The role will be expected to collaborate with other teams at batyr including: Programs, Marketing and Fundraising and Partnerships.</p>
<p>The role is responsible for the administration of batyr&rsquo;s pool of 150+ storytellers and lived experience educators. This primarily involves taking a data-informed approach to staffing and scheduling the right people for batyr&rsquo;s programs and activities, onboarding new storytellers, and supporting the ongoing engagement and wellbeing of batyr&rsquo;s lived experience network. This role will report to the Lived Experience Storytelling Manager based in Sydney.</p>
<p>All candidates will need to hold a current Working with Children Check and Police Check, or be willing to obtain these within one (1) month of starting the role.</p>
<h3><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>Staff and schedule storytellers and educators for batyr&rsquo;s programs and activities Nationally</li>
<li>Review data and attend various meetings to gather information to make informed decisions about program and activity staffing</li>
<li>Check in with and support young people who have a lived experience of mental ill-health by providing information and resources, and empowering them to take charge of their mental health and wellbeing</li>
<li>Support the onboarding of storytellers and educators</li>
<li>Provide feedback to storytellers and educators to support their ongoing professional development</li>
<li>Support the delivery of training for storytellers and educators</li>
<li>Support the coordination of internal and external engagement opportunities for storytellers and educators. These activities may include, but are not limited to: community fundraisers, policy and advocacy activities, consultation and advisory, research, program design, development and delivery, co-design/design thinking and media opportunities</li>
<li>Track and report on operational and strategic targets related to the Lived Experience team</li>
<li>Support the development of Lived Experience team processes to improve reach, impact and efficiency</li>
<li>Support the Lived Experience team with projects and activities as required</li>
<li>Contribute to, or extend on, the broader culture, mission and strategy at batyr, including supporting other team&rsquo;s with their objectives where required</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>ESSENTIAL QUALITIES</strong></h3>

<li>Ability to efficiently and consistently follow administrative processes with excellent attention to detail</li>
<li>Exceptional organisation and time management skills</li>
<li>Ability to juggle different priorities and work well under pressure</li>
<li>Experience staffing/scheduling/rostering networks of contractors, staff or volunteers</li>
<li>Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and written</li>
<li>Ability to connect with young people in an engaging and authentic way</li>
<li>High level of empathy, with the ability to support young people with a lived experience of mental ill-health while maintaining emotional boundaries</li>
<li>A working understanding of best practices around lived experience engagement, safe language and working with young people</li>
<li>Ability to show initiative and employ critical thinking</li>
<li>Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team</li>
</ul>
<h3><strong>Desirable Qualities<br /></strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>1+ year working in the mental health sector</li>
<li>Proven experience in youth/volunteer/lived experience engagement/advocacy</li>
<li>Proven experience in group facilitation</li>
<li>Project coordination experience</li>
<li>Certified Mental Health First Aid practitioner</li>
<li>Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours if required</li>
</ul>
