The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with the 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for Australia’s 920,000+ registered health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications, and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.
Engaging with our diverse stakeholders to build trust and confidence in us as the national health practitioner regulator is a key priority for Ahpra. In NSW, the State Manager engages with senior external stakeholders and we are looking for a highly organised and dynamic person to support that liaison work.
This is a full-time, fixed term role of approximately 12 months, with a possibility of extension.
Ahpra requires all employees to comply with Ahpra policies, which includes the Flexible working policy.
Working in Ahpra’s Sydney office conveniently located in the CBD, this high-volume role within Ahpra’s Engagement function is a key intersection between the 150+ people in the Ahpra Sydney office and the complex NSW health system.
We are looking for an individual with a strong foundation in providing local office management, administration support, and secretariat support, with a passion for stakeholder engagement, to take on our Engagement Liaison Officer role. You will use your skills in time management, project support, event organisation, and engagement to actively develop and maintain ongoing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You will collaborate closely with the NSW State Manager in this dynamic role. Highly motivated and personable, you will have excellent interpersonal skills, allowing you to help us deliver our Ahpra Engagement Strategy in NSW, and to help make the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme accessible to communities.
You embody our values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, and Achievement, which in turn builds on the trust and credibility you will develop with key stakeholders. This will allow you to provide excellence in service delivery, engage widely, and actively contribute to the positive culture of the Sydney office.
This role is yours to own, working with people committed to the protection of the public through empathetic regulation of 16 registered health professions by 15 National Boards.

Our Sydney office, located on the land of the Gadigal People, is centrally located in World Square. You will be part of a national organisation with offices and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues in each of Australia's capital cities.
Please note applications will be screened and shortlisted during the advertising period. Should we receive suitable candidates during this time, the advertising period will cease.
Offer of employment is subject to successful background (pre-employment screening) and Criminal History checks.
