The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications, and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.
This is a 12 month, full time position, preferably based in Melbourne working in a hybrid arrangement.
The Policy and Project Officer, Medical (MTS) role sits within the Strategy and Policy Directorate and supports the Medical Board of Australia (the Board) to deliver on the regulatory plan and projects for regulation of registered medical practitioners in Australia, predominantly supporting work on the Medical Training Survey (MTS).
Reporting to the Project Manager, Medical, the Policy and Project Officer will support policy and project initiatives, particularly in relation to the Medical Training Survey. Using your key skills including developing and maintaining clear communication with key stakeholders including medical professionals, broader industry contacts, patients, and the public. The role will require developing project briefings, managing projects, and providing accurate advice on regulatory and governance matters, particularly in relation to the Medical Training Survey.
You will bring your experience working within the health sector, your strong background in project planning and management, as well as policy development, analysis, and implementation, particularly from a health practice or regulation background.
You are well organised, with excellent time management and planning skills, and a solid understanding of corporate governance and regulatory systems. You have exceptional attention to detail, and well developed conceptual, analytical, and data management skills, and will bring your advanced written and verbal communication skills.
With a strong ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders, you excel in collaborative environments and work effectively with others.
