About the Role

Bayside City Council has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager with an understanding of community-based aged care services, strong contract management experience, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. You are analytical, knowledgeable in procurement processes, and adept at ensuring contract compliance and performance.

The role is responsible for managing and improving service contracts and supporting the aged care team manage their obligations. It involves procurement of aged care suppliers, management of their contracts and performance, and identifying improvement opportunities.

You will be responsible for:

  • Engaging with internal stakeholders to understand operational needs and key risks for effective contract management.
  • Oversee the performance and compliance of contractors and high risk internally delivered activities to ensure required service standards and legislative requirements are met.
  • Act as the primary contact for suppliers, handling contract relationships and performance.
  • Maintain strong business relationships with stakeholders and suppliers, managing issues and negotiations

Key Selection Criteria

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:

  • Tertiary qualifications related to contract management.
  • Demonstrated contract management and auditing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed analytical and problems solving skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of community based aged care services.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships with internal and external staff and contractors.

Mandatory pre-employment requirements

  • Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check 
  • Be fully vaccinated with at least two approved COVID-19 vaccines or have proof of medical exemption, in accordance with Community Care’s COVID-19 Vaccination Policy.
