The Community Capacity Building Officer position is based at Council’s Connected Communities Unit which is responsible for building community capacity, increasing participation in community life and driving engagement best practices across the organisation to ensure community needs inform decision making. The Unit engages with the Brimbank community to support project implementation and policy development such as the Brimbank Community Vision 2040 and Council Plan 2017 - 2021.

The Community Capacity Building Officer is responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders in a community capacity building framework to improve, build and strengthen community capacity to meet community needs and improve community’s wellbeing across the municipality of Brimbank.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

• Do you have a tertiary qualification in community capacity building/development or a related discipline? 
  
• Do you have experience in community capacity building?
• Do you have proficiency with computers and Microsoft office software? 

Desirable:

• Do you have a local or state government experience in a similar position?
• Do you have a comprehensive knowledge of the role of local government in relation to community development and capacity building? 
• Do you have a language relevant to the Brimbank community? 
• Do you have a Current Victorian Driver’s License?
