About the role

We have multiple casual positions available up to 75 hours per fortnight for Educators working in our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) and Early Childhood Education Centres (ECEC) to provide a high standard of Education and Care to children. We have positions for trainees, no experience or qualifications required up to full diploma/degree qualified roles.

The available roles include:
- Early Childhood Teachers - Early Childhood Teaching Degree or Diploma qualified and actively studying to become an Early Childhood Teacher or other relevant qualifications.
- Qualified Educators - Minimum Cert III qualification in an approved (ACECQA) qualification.
- Trainee Educators - Work in OSHC, no experience or qualifications required. Work in ECEC, be willing to actively work towards a minimum Certificate III in an approved (ACECQA) qualification supported by CRCS.
To be successful you will have:
- Commitment and passion to educating and developing children within an Early Childhood Education environment.
- Understanding of work health and safety responsibilities.
- Ability to engage children in activities which are appropriate to their interests and abilities.
- Ability to develop appropriate and sustained relationships with children
- Demonstrated awareness of the rights of the child.
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, children, colleagues and other stakeholders
- Awareness of mandatory reporting obligations
- Ability to follow directions and undertake tasks at all levels.
- Ability to understand and work within set policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Knowledge and commitment to the CRCS Vision, Purpose, Values and Strategic Goals.
- Possess the personal attributes of optimism, resilience and flexibility.
Depending on experience and qualifications you will also have or be willing to work towards:
- Understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law, Regulations and Standards.
- Understanding of the Early Years Learning or My Time Our Place Framework.
- Ability to maintain up-to-date professional knowledge of Australian Early and/or Middle Childhood Education theory and practice.
- Current approved First aid training as prescribed in the Education and Care Services National Regulations (Reg 136).
- Current approved anaphylaxis management training (Reg 136);
- Current approved emergency asthma management training (Reg 136)
CRCS also requires all employees to:
- Hold or be willing to obtain a satisfactory Working with Vulnerable People registration (ACT) and/or a Working with Children Check (NSW), and have these with them at all times whilst employed by CRCS.
- Undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may affect their eligibility to work or perform the inherent requirements of their position.
- Maintain full COVID-19 vaccination currency and provide evidence of their vaccinations to CRCS (sensitive information is kept private and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles) unless they are able to provide suitable evidence of a medical contraindication that prevents them from receiving this vaccine.
