Seeking Administrative Support (Transport) – Help People Get to Critical Healthcare Appointments and Stay Socially Connected
Do you have a few hours to spare and a desire to help others in your community? Many people in Canberra struggle to access medical appointments, including dialysis and cancer treatments. By becoming a volunteer transport administrator with Capital Region Community Services (CRCS), you’ll help people from different walks of life to get to vital healthcare appointments, social outings and activities that combat isolation.
Volunteers providing administrative support are an extension of our Transport Coordination Team. Administrative tasks vary and are dependent on the needs of the program. If you’re friendly, reliable, and enjoy meeting new people, this is a rewarding way to give back!

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assist to coordinator volunteer driver schedules with participant appointments and other transport needs.
- Provide friendly and accurate communication to volunteers and participants.
- Process volunteer reimbursements and copying and filing of participant records.
- Notify CRCS Transport Coordination Team of any changes or concerns.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Friendly and caring individuals with great communication skills.
- Good computer skills including the capacity to learn to use a database, photocopier/scanner, Microsoft Word, telephone and email.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, privacy and respect for passengers and volunteers.
- Reliability – a must for helping to get people to appointments on time.
What You’ll Need:
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration (or willingness to obtain).
- Volunteers are required to undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing.
