The Koori Preschool Assistant will support the development of a safe and accepting environment where the rights of all children are acknowledged and individuality and creativity is encouraged and to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and heritage is valued and promoted and to improve the outcomes for Aboriginal children through increased participation in kindergarten programs.

• Part Time (3 Days- 22.8 Hours per week)
• Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award 2010 (SCHADS)
• $24.16 per hour plus 9.5% superannuation and access to Salary Packaging

Key selection criteria

• Knowledge of child and adolescent development and strategies for working with vulnerable children, young people and their families
• Ability to effectively and efficiently plan and organise own workload
• Demonstrated negotiation and advocacy skills
• Experience in assessment and development of measurable family care plans
• An ability to manage stressful situations
