About the Organisation:

Schools Plus exists to close the education gap caused by disadvantage. They believe that every child, no matter their background or postcode, deserves access to a high-quality education.

As a national not-for-profit, they connect underfunded schools with donors, philanthropists, and strategic funding to support initiatives that improve student outcomes. Their work is evidence-based, future-focused and built on a genuine belief in the power of education to change lives. Since launching in 2013, they’ve supported over 1,600 schools and improved the learning of more than 500,000 students.
Schools Plus are a collaborative and dedicated team who deeply value creativity, integrity and impact. The Sydney office operates on a flexible hybrid model, and they offer generous wellbeing leave, ongoing learning opportunities, and a warm, supportive culture.

About the Role:

As Digital Marketing Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of Schools Plus’ digital marketing strategy, building their online presence to strengthen brand visibility, drive fundraising and engage with key stakeholders including educators, donors, and government partners.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Government Relations, you will manage the full digital ecosystem—including website, social media, email marketing, SEO, and paid advertising. You'll also lead the planning and delivery of integrated digital campaigns, using data and insights to guide your approach and continually improve performance.

Your work will directly contribute to Schools Plus’ ability to grow its reach, raise more funds, and deliver stronger support to schools serving children experiencing disadvantage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy aligned with Schools Plus’ mission and goals.
  • Set clear KPIs and campaign objectives, track performance across digital channels, and report insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the digital marketing calendar and ensure timely delivery of all campaigns and content.
  • Lead the end-to-end development of digital campaigns that support fundraising, engagement, and brand awareness.
  • Write and produce compelling and inspiring content for a range of channels, including social media, eDMs, web content, supporter stories, reports and donor updates.
  • Develop and execute email marketing campaigns with clear segmentation and personalisation to enhance donor journeys and maximise conversion.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across fundraising, communications, and programs to create consistent and strategic content.
  • Manage website content updates and work with Schools Plus’ web hosting agency to ensure functionality and optimisation.
  • Maintain SEO best practices using tools such as Yoast and Google Analytics to drive organic traffic and enhance online visibility.
  • Manage all organic and paid social media content, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with key campaigns.
  • Monitor platform performance and adjust tactics to increase reach and engagement.
  • Track, analyse and report on campaign performance using platforms such as Google Analytics, Salesforce and social media insights.
  • Use data to drive decision-making, improve engagement, and demonstrate ROI.
  • Present findings to senior leaders to inform future strategy.
  • Provide marketing support across the organisation, including campaign admin, CRM (Salesforce) management, and event support.
  • Support broader marketing and communications objectives, including brand governance, asset management and innovation initiatives.
  • Contribute to cross-functional team projects, process improvement and adoption of new digital tools.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in digital marketing, preferably within the not-for-profit or purpose-led sector.
  • Strong understanding of philanthropy and the philanthropic market in Australia.
  • Proven success in leading and delivering digital strategies that drive meaningful engagement.
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to tailor messaging to varied audiences.
  • Proficiency with WordPress, Mailchimp, Salesforce, Google Analytics and social media tools.
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM, paid social campaigns, and content optimisation best practices.
