Role responsibilities

In this role you will manage a small team of Case Workers to deliver targeted voluntary intervention services to children and young people aged 0-17, supporting families through the Family Preservation Program, focusing on preventing vulnerable children from entering the child protection system and improving their wellbeing.

You will in turn be supported by your Area Manager, equipping you with the tools to build capacity, motivate and empower your team to support as many families as possible.

  • Manage a team of Case Workers delivering the Family Preservation program, ensuring best practise and compliance with relevant legislation and regulations, program and practice guidelines and aligning with internal policies and procedures.
  • Actively engage across a wide variety of supervisory tasks such as consults, debriefs, and facilitated group sessions to embed the Thriving Families Framework in daily practise.
  • Provide regular performance feedback to staff to ensure continuous improvement through the development of quarterly improvement plans (QIP’s) with your team, aligned with the Thriving Families Framework.
  • Nurture strong relationships and partnership with internal/external stakeholders, governing bodies and shared health services for cross unit engagement and support.
  • Ensure timely and accurate record-keeping and documentation is completed according to organisational/regulatory guidelines, as well as preparing service delivery reports and other required reporting as needed.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualifications in social work, psychology or similar as well as proven management and leadership experience within community services/child and family or a social work environment.
  • Computer proficiency – intermediate or advanced skills across the Microsoft Office suite.
  • The ability to tailor communication and training style to suit variety of stakeholders and experience levels, ability to operate within and nurture a strong feedback culture.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills – a proactive approach to managing resources and timelines to meet deliverables.
  • Alignment with organisational values and operational frameworks.
  • Successful candidates will be required to obtain a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Check as well as have an unrestricted NSW Driver's License.
