The Opportunity

The ELF Program delivers high-quality, evidence-based supported playgroups for families with children ranging from newborns to school age. This role focuses on strengthening early learning, promoting play-based learning, and building parental confidence using trauma-informed, therapeutic activities.

The ELF supported playgroups offer a safe and playful learning environment for families. The team work collaboratively to provide high-quality parent and child supported playgroups targeting families experiencing vulnerability.

    Key Responsibilities:

    As a Supported Playgroup Facilitator, you will:

    • Co-facilitate three supported playgroups across the week in the City of Whittlesea 
    • Promote early learning through play, fostering positive parent-child relationships
    • Provide case support, connecting families to community services and resources
    • Work collaboratively with early education, health, and welfare services to support families 

    About You

    We are looking for a compassionate and skilled professional with experience in group work and case support with families and young children who is:

    • Passionate about early childhood development and trauma-informed care, with a strong understanding of play-based learning and its role in supporting children’s growth and development.
    • Has the ability to engage culturally diverse communities, apply creative approaches to participation, and promote safe, playful learning environments.
    • Knowledgeable about child development, family violence frameworks (MARAM), early parenting and the secondary and tertiary service systems that aim to support the best interests of children and families
    • Bachelor Level qualified in Social Work, Psychology, Welfare, Early Childhood Education, or a related field.
