About The Opportunity

This role sits in our Organisational Effectiveness portfolio and reports to the Senior Manager - Risk and Compliance. The role of the Senior Audit and Compliance Officer is to support, and contribute to, the management and coordination of Berry Street's compliance obligations. This includes the development and implementation of systems and processes, through regular monitoring of Berry Streets risk and compliance management systems and internal auditing that facilitate Berry Street’s compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations, and, external funding/program and internal policy and procedural requirements.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Audit and Compliance Officer you will be required to:

  • Work in consultation with the Senior Manager Risk and Compliance to support the development of, coordination and implementation of key activities of the compliance framework and implementation of the internal audit schedule.
  •  Identify and formulate recommendations for implementation in response to the above activities.
  • Communicate (reports and presentation) key findings with key internal stakeholders to support continuous improvement. Including by not limited to the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams.
  • Respond to, and coordinate requests and reporting obligations from external funding and regulatory bodies.

About You

Our organisation is looking for a candidate with the below capabilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of audit practices and application in complex service settings
  • Experience in managing compliance systems in complex legislative and regulatory environment
  • Attention to detail and the ability to analyse information
  • A tertiary qualification in a related field, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience working in audit and compliance
