The Opportunity

The Orange Door (TOD) was created in response to the Royal Commission into Family Violence and operate as single area-based entry points for vulnerable families and children (including victims/survivors of family violence, families with children at risk of abuse or neglect and perpetrators of family violence) to access services when and where they need them. The Orange Door is primarily an Intake and Assessment service with Victim/Survivors being referred externally for longer term support and operates within a matrix management structure.

The role has a strong focus on service improvement and excellence and the worker will be skilled in creating strong external partnerships and opportunities and have a vision for the future.

• Preston location, Wurundjeri Country travel to NEMA and HMA Orange Door offices as required (Heidelberg, Epping, Broadmeadows and Sunbury). 
• Full time, Permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

The role will support the implementation and ongoing operation of the NEMA and HMA Orange Doors by;

• Providing strategic oversite to programs and direct line management to Berry Street Orange Door Program Managers.
• Providing direction and input to the Berry Street’s Family Violence organisational planning including contributing to the Family Violence Strategy
• Developing and maintain processes to ensure quality and compliance standards and promote service excellence and innovation.
• Supporting the organisation to identify and respond to risk (client, staff, financial and organisational).
• Maintaining existing partnerships and opportunities for new partnering opportunities and build service and community capacity.
• Promoting community awareness of the impact of family violence and promote service user voice.

The role will also have a strong focus on continual improvement and service excellence across all programs.

About You

• You have a passion for creating awareness of the impact of family violence and promote the service user's voice.
• You will have a minimum Bachelor level qualification in Social Work or recent employment in the family violence sector or equivalency met through the 7 Equivalency Principles in line with the minimum mandatory qualification requirements. • Keen eye for detail and identifying risk.
• Enjoy working collaboratively and building partnerships with external and internal stakeholder relationships.
• Extensive experience or formal qualifications in management.
• Established networks with linking agencies in the Northern Metropolitan region of Melbourne.
• Experience working with people with a disability.
