Berry Street are implementing an evidence-based model of care called the Teaching Family Model (TFM). TFM is a therapeutic behavioural program, which sees children living with highly trained staff, known as Practitioners in a home setting. The TFM model uses teaching interactions, relationships and skills building which is targeted to reduce challenging behaviours and increase pro-social behaviours.
The Senior Practitioner will play a leadership role in the team with the Lead Practitioner, TFM Consultant and Take Two Clinician, to ensure continuity of care for the young people in the home and the delivery of client focused tasks. The role of the Senior TFM Practitioner is to use the TFM model to create lasting behavioural change for young people.
You will be heavily support by the TFM Consultant, who will coach you through learning the model over a 12-month period. Your learning modalities will include formal training, on the job coaching, observations and formal feedback processes. There is compulsory training for this role for successful candidates.
You will require a minimum Cert IV in Children, Youth & Family Intervention is preferred however Berry Street will support you if you do not have a relevant qualification to gain this while being employed at Berry Street. Completion of (or willingness to complete) mandatory upskilling units as required by Department of Families, Fairness and Housing.
Ideal candidates will be TFM trained and or be going through the TFM training. We are also looking for someone who may hold a TFM practitioner certification and have previous leadership skills,
