Berry Street’s Northern Specialist Family Violence Service (NSFVS) is a provider and access point for integrated family violence services in the Northern Metro Melbourne sub-region. The service provides a range of support services to families who have experienced family violence.
The service aims to support victim survivors and their children to remain safely within their community and maintain a life free of violence while also addressing the emotional and practical needs and issues arising from the violence.
This role will work in a hybrid environment of part working from home and in the office.
In this role you will provide intake and triage response for incoming referrals for family violence counselling. You will work from a framework that promotes a sense of self and encourages the victim survivors own empowerment and will have an understanding of the multi factorial contributors to the experience of family violence by an individual.
You will understand therapeutic readiness for practitioners referring victim survivors to family violence counselling and you will support the flow of referrals to the counselling team.
We're looking for experienced Family Violence Practitioners that come from all walks of life. We value people's individual contributions and strengths, driven from a commitment to have a workforce that's reflective of the community we serve.

Please see www.vic.gov.au/mandatory-minimum-qualificationsspecialist-family-violence-practitioners for further information.
The specialised level of this role will require the ability to be able to reflect and analyse complex situations arising in specialist family violence casework and the commitment to working collaboratively with the capacity to negotiate and liaise with other agencies and the community.
