The Berry Street School is a specialist independent secondary school with four campuses located in Ballarat, Morwell, Narre Warren & Shepparton. We offer an adaptation of the Victorian Curriculum for years 7–10, and the Victorian Certificate of Education Vocational Major (VCE VM) and Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) for years 11–12.

Our School exists to provide high-quality education to young people with a history of adverse childhood experiences who are at risk of disengaging from their education. Our students may have significant gaps in academic achievement and have found it difficult to learn in a group setting, presenting with complex behaviours in school settings.
The Lead Teacher provides leadership in the development and delivery of curriculum, assessment and reporting and provides instructional coaching and data coaching to teaching staff across the campus.
The Lead Teacher also plays a key role in implementing the Berry Street Education Model across the campus to ensure the effective delivery of trauma informed positive education.
To be successful in the role, you will hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, hold a current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration and be able to work creatively to engage our young people in their education.
You will understand of the importance of, and have the ability to, work in a team environment in this setting and an understanding of the trauma informed positive education model approach. You will have outstanding capacity for visionary and exemplary educational and/or instructional leadership of a school.
