Based in Sydney, Bobby Goldsmith Foundation (BGF) is Australia's longest-running community-based HIV organisation. Established in 1984 by a dedicated group of Bobby Goldsmith's friends after his death, BGF has helped thousands of people living with HIV across NSW and SA. Today, BGF’s purpose is to empower and support people living with HIV to thrive by providing practical, emotional and financial support. BGF is a not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee.
The Board of BGF is seeking applications for non-executive director positions. The roles are voluntary and assist in overseeing the Organisation's direction and operations and providing support and guidance to the Chief Executive and Management team to execute their duties.
Currently, BGF operates a balanced, skills-based Board and are seeking expressions of interest from individuals with demonstrated expertise and experience in one or more of the following specific areas:
You will be driven and committed whose values and vision align with those of BGF with a passion for wanting to inspire, empower and lead people and communities to support vulnerable people.
Candidates with an understanding of or with lived experience of HIV and AIDS related issues will be highly regarded. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply. It is desirable for NED’s to be prepared to sit on a Board committee.
Unpaid volunteer.
There are approximately six board meetings held per year.
