Join our compassionate and dedicated team at Anglicare at Home! As a Lifestyle Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the lives of our clients, including those living with dementia. Under the guidance of the Team Leader and as part of a care team, you will provide individualised support and engaging leisure/recreational activities that cater to the social, emotional, cultural, spiritual, psychosocial, physical, and intellectual needs of our clients.
Permanent part time role, 2 days per week based in Social and Wellness Centre Mount Ousley.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Empower Clients: Ensure all clients are respected and treated with empathy and dignity by providing services that offer choices to live their daily life in a way that is special and unique to them (person-centred) and consistent with their wellbeing and the wellbeing of others.
- Enrich Lives: Design, implement, and evaluate leisure, lifestyle, learning, and spiritual activities and events to enrich the lives of individuals. Assist and encourage clients to participate in activities that bring joy and fulfilment.
- Foster Independence: Adopt and encourage a Christian Care approach and Rhythm of Life principles in every client encounter and all activities using appropriate guidance, demonstration, and communication that encourages independence and confidence in those participating.
- Supportive Environment: Provide personal care, social and emotional support, plan and prepare meals, transport clients, offer respite for carers, and maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Holistic Care: Contribute to client assessments and integrated care plans, ensuring each client's needs are met comprehensively.
- Community Engagement: Facilitate clients' access to a wider community through ongoing social interaction and meaningful relationships.
- Professional Growth: Attend mandatory training, participate in team meetings, and engage with Anglicare's communication and client management systems.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement, regulation, and compliance activities.
- Spiritual Support: Encourage and support opportunities for spiritual support and pastoral care.
- Respectful Workplace: Foster an understanding and respectful work environment, valuing all cultural backgrounds.
- Safety First: Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy workplace, complying with safe work practices and participating in safety activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Cert III in Aged Care or willingness to work towards this (desirable).
- Cert IV in Leisure & Health or willingness to work towards this (desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in Aged Care (minimum 3 years).
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence (essential), LR Class Licence (where required).
- Registered and Comprehensively Insured motor vehicle.
