The Role

The role of Private Rental Assistance Program (PRAP) Worker has a focus on two areas;

  • Working with clients at risk of homelessness to provide education and assistance to find and establish new tenancies. Services provided may include practical assistance to help people understand the process of applying for private rental, viewing properties, negotiating with real estate agents and landlords, and submitting rental applications.
  • Developing relationships with key property managers and real estate agencies to facilitate access to private rental properties for people on a low income. This role is responsible for developing existing and new relationships that benefit Launch Housing's clients, the PRAP program and the organisation as a whole.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and be able to form and maintain strong relationships
  • Excellent time management and the ability to effectively priorities tasks, demonstrate initiative, be proactive and anticipate areas where assistance is required
  • A demonstrated commitment to social justice and to the empowerment of disadvantaged members of the community
  • Have the skills and experience to work effectively and sensitively with a broad range of clients, including those with complex and mental health needs
  • Experience in Real Estate - Property Management will be highly regarded
