The Mallee Threatened Birds Coordinator plays an important role in helping BirdLife Australia achieve its strategic goal of improving outcomes for Australian birds. The role will manage and support conservation projects to prevent the extinction of threatened Mallee birds.
The objective of this position is to coordinate stakeholders engaged through the Mallee Threatened Birds Committee, and identify key actions, manage projects and engage partners to recover threatened Mallee birds under the objectives of the Mallee Threatened Birds Conservation Action Plan (CAP) and BirdLife Australia’s Bird Conservation Strategy. The position will also include delivering a project aimed at auditing the state of play with Plains-wanderer, establishing a community of practice and coordinating the creation of an updated distribution map for this species.
This is a part-time position (0.8 FTE) offered on a 2 year, maximum term contract subject to funding. Please note, that this is a Hybrid based position working in a home-based position in the broader Mallee region or our National Office in Collingwood.
This position is offered at Level 3, $88,444 per annum. Pro rata 0.8 FTE $70,755 per annum.
