About The Bower
The Bower is a leading reuse and repair centre based in Sydney, dedicated to sustainability, waste reduction, and practical skills education. Through our hands-on workshops, we inspire and equip individuals with the skills they need to repair, reuse, and repurpose materials, reducing landfill and fostering a circular economy.
About the Role
We are seeking experienced tradespeople to facilitate introductory, one-day courses in:
- Electrical Work (No Live Power)
- Plumbing
- Carpentry
These workshops are designed for Sydney-based school leavers who are interested in a trade but may not have had the opportunity to experience it firsthand. The courses provide a practical introduction and overview of each trade, giving participants a real sense of what to expect and helping them decide if it’s the right path for them.
As a Workshop Facilitator, you will:
- Deliver engaging, practical workshops that introduce participants to fundamental trade skills.
- Demonstrate and guide participants through hands-on activities in a safe and supportive environment.
- Inspire and empower young people to explore a potential career in the trades.
- Share insights and advice on what a career in the trade involves.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times.
- Align with The Bower’s values by promoting sustainability, repair, and reuse practices.
