Reporting to the National Manager of Advocacy and Support Services, the Redress Case Manager - Beyond Brave is responsible for supporting survivors of child sexual abuse who are considering applying to the National Redress Scheme. The role provides client focused counselling and emotional support in a trauma informed yet time limited context and provides accurate information about the scheme and assists clients to complete Redress applications.
The key areas of responsibilities include:
- Providing clear and accurate information about the National Redress Scheme ('Redress Scheme') to clients who have experienced historical Institutional Child Sexual Abuse.
- Assisting clients to complete and lodge applications for the Redress Scheme.
- Providing clients with practical and emotional support during the Redress Scheme application and outcome processes.
- Supporting clients to access other appropriate services such as legal and financial counselling or other community services.
- Promoting the Redress Scheme and Beyond Brave services to and building relationships with the community and local service providers.
- Undertaking case debrief, professional development activities and supervision.
- Some outreach responsibilities with travel to North Queensland expected at least monthly.

Skills and experience
- Candidates need to possess a Tertiary qualification in social work, counselling or psychology.
- A minimum of 1-year experience in advocacy or support in a community organisation is desirable and/or experience with the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
- Training/ experience in working with adult survivors of child sexual assault, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disabilities and members of the CALD communities.
- Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills, as well as exceptional organisational and Microsoft office skills are essential to this role.
