The Role

As the Leasehold Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing Bridge Housing’s leasehold portfolio, including negotiating leases, handling tenancy issues, and ensuring compliance with the Residential Tenancy Act (RTA).

This role reports directly into the Manager, HomeGround Real Estate and works collaboratively with the housing management team and acts as the primary point of contact for key stakeholders to ensure effective communication and smooth operations in all aspects of leasing and property management.

What will a day as a Leasehold Coordinator look like?

  • Visiting properties and ensuring properties meet the RTA standards through inspections and condition reports.
  • Maintaining accurate records of available properties in relevant IT systems
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with real estate agents and landlords
  • Effectively managing financial targets, including negotiating rental rates, renewals, and rent increase requests
  • Providing accurate reports regarding financial and subsidy targets
  • Managing repairs and maintenance issues, ensuring timely completion
  • Overseeing the vacant and hand-back processes, including compensation and negotiations where required
  • Preparing for and attending NCAT proceedings
  • Promoting Bridge Housing and break down barriers to leasing in the social housing sector

Who are we looking for?

  • A current NSW Driver’s Licence
  • 3-5 years' experience in property management or a related field
  • Extensive knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (2010)
  • Understanding of the legal framework for social housing landlords/tenants
  • Demonstrated experience handling NCAT proceedings
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) and real estate software
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a related field (e.g Property) is a plus!
