About the Role:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals affected by family violence? Join a dynamic and dedicated team as the Team Leader for Family Violence Programs, where you'll be at the forefront of providing essential support and services to women, children, and men.

In this leadership role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the coordination and delivery of vital programs such as the Family Violence Counselling and Support for Women and Children, Men’s Behaviour Change Program, Caring Dads, and more. You'll lead a committed team, providing clinical guidance, supervision, and support across multiple programs while managing your own caseload.

With a deep understanding of frameworks like MARAM, Safe & Together Principles, and Duluth curriculum, you will play a pivotal role in improving the safety and wellbeing of families across the region.

A full list of key duties is outlined in the Position Description, but includes responsibilities in:

  • Lead and effectively administer the programs services in accordance with program service plans, service agreements and funding body requirements, including providing operational support to the staff in the programs.
  • Be responsible for demand management, monitoring and reviewing caseloads regularly to ensure a responsive and effective service; this also includes allocation of new clients and being responsible for carrying a caseload.
  • Undertake Case management and group work utilising the primary theories and frameworks that are recognised as appropriate and effective in working with men. These include Safe and Together Principles and the Duluth Framework.
  • Effectively undertake regular risk and safety assessments of men, women and children.

Do your skills include:

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to the theoretical frameworks underpinning our understanding of family violence including gender, feminist analysis, human rights and social justice.
  • Experience in, and an understanding of, the challenges men face during times of relationship change such as when forming new relationships, pregnancy, birth of a child, separation, divorce or retirement.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the impact of trauma on women and children.
  • A thorough understanding of the Family Violence Service System.

Are your credentials:

  • A minimum qualification of a sector recognised and accredited Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent. (Qualifications must be approved by recognised professional bodies: ie. AASW, APS etc.)
  • Men’s Behaviour Change Group Program Facilitator or a desire to attain the Graduate Certificate in Family Violence.
  • A current Drivers Licence.
