We’re looking for a professional Advocacy and Governance Lead with relevant experience who wants to join our team of 1500 employees and 1000 volunteers to make a difference on a Full-time basis, working 38 per week based in Fitzroy.

THE ROLE

The position will be responsible for developing and supporting policy and advocacy activities related to youth employment in the NYEB. This includes, but is not limited to, strategy around and preparation for governance groups, including development of briefings, collateral, submissions and other documentation and driving actions that arise from the NYEB governance groups, government relations and advocacy efforts.

  • Responsible for designing and preparing materials for and following from the NYEB Advisory Board, government relations and other strategic groups and advocacy efforts
  • Support the development of program and service design in youth employment, education and training, including grant and tender writing
  • Develop operational program resources and processes and coordinate efforts as relevant to policy and advocacy in youth employment
  • Salary will be in the range of $99,878.69 - $104,287.75 per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation.

To be considered for the role and be successful in it, we’re looking for someone who has the following key skills and experiences:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in the area of policy, education, youth, community development or a related field; 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of advocacy, policy and practice in the areas of employment, education and disadvantage among young people in the Australian context
  • Well-developed advocacy and policy analysis skills in relation to youth, education, training and employment
  • Experience in development and delivery of advocacy and influence campaigns including grant and tender writing
