Bush Heritage Australia is a national leader in landscape-scale conservation. Independent and evidence-based, we work where we are needed most: in areas of high conservation value with low levels of protection. We protect and help manage 11.3 million hectares of land, providing habitat for over 6359 native species, including at least 243 threatened species. We have two proven approaches to what we do: we carefully select, purchase and manage landscapes of high conservation value; and we work in partnership with others, including Traditional Owners, to achieve conservation outcomes.

About the role:

This busy part-time role supports the Direct Marketing Officer in getting our 4 x annual fundraising mail appeals out to our donors. This involves strict project and deadline management, and liaising with our fundraising communications agency and print mailhouse. You will be equally at home proofing words and copy through writing detailed briefs, as you are to applying your attention to detail to print specs and quotes to ensure budgets are kept on track.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Commitment and passion for nature conservation and the objectives and values of Bush Heritage.
  • Previous experience in a fundraising, administrative or print/mailhouse role
  • Good project management experience
  • Understanding or quick willingness to learn of print and mail specifications for lodging appeals
  • Solid Excel and data skills
  • Able to manage time well while working on concurrent projects, and work autonomously
  • Excellent inter-personal and written communication skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • You will have a “can do” attitude, a willingness to help others and enjoy working in a team environment. You will have strong interpersonal skills, organisational skills, and demonstrated ability to work independently.
