Bicycle Network

Make a difference, create unforgettable experiences, and be part of a healthier, happier future.

At Bicycle Network, we believe liveable places where people and physical activity is essential for a happy and healthy life—so we’re on a mission to make it easier for everyone to ride a bike, every day.

We’re looking for a passionate and people-focused Volunteer Coordinator to join our high-energy Events team. In this dynamic role, you’ll lead the charge in nurturing and growing our incredible volunteer community, helping us deliver events that people remember for all the right reasons. This role is defined as Part Time at 0.8 FTE.

Why this role matters:

Volunteers are the heartbeat of our events—from community rides to our biggest national activations. You’ll be the driving force behind attracting, engaging, and supporting our volunteer crew, ensuring every volunteer feels valued and every event runs smoothly.

Your role in the team:

  • You’ll report to the Head of Events and collaborate with Project Leads, Event Coordinators, and the broader Bicycle Network team.
  • Based primarily in our Melbourne office, you’ll also be right in the action—supporting our events on the ground.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement: Attract and retain volunteers, build strong relationships, and communicate with clarity and heart.
  • Event Workforce Management: Oversee volunteer logistics—rostering, catering, accommodation—and ensure everyone is set up for success.
  • Volunteer Office Coordination: Manage the event office volunteer program, supporting admin and operational roles.
  • Admin & Ops Support: Lend a hand across the events and wider team as needed.

Success looks like:

  • Hitting volunteer targets and keeping satisfaction high
  • Staying organised, efficient, and within budget
  • Embodying our values and lifting the culture around you

What we’re looking for:

  • A genuine connection to our mission and values
  • Clear, confident communication skills
  • A flexible, solutions-focused mindset
  • A volunteer-first attitude with a knack for building relationships
  • A desire to learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully

If you're ready to be the person behind the people who make our events unforgettable, we want to hear from you.
