<h3>About Us</h3>
<p>Boorndawan Willam Aboriginal Healing Service (BWAHS) are the lead specialists in Aboriginal specific family violence services across the Eastern Metropolitan Region. The organisation has developed an excellent record of providing high quality family violence and trauma informed intensive case management, integrated family service responses and evidence based therapeutic programs to individuals and groups for a whole family approach.</p>
<p><strong>Full Time - Aboriginal applicants are preferred but all applicants will be given the same consideration under the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth).</strong></p>
<p>BWAHS is partnered with The Orange Door (TOD) to provide culturally informed support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community members affected by family violence. The Aboriginal Team Leader role is located at the TOD office in the Outer East Metropolitan Region (Croydon) and will provide intake, assessment and planning to Aboriginal &amp; Torres Strait Islander clients.</p>
<h3>Position Summary</h3>
<p>The Team Leader for Boorndawan Willam Aboriginal Healing Service (BWAHS), Outer Eastern Metropolitan Area (OEMA), The Orange Door (TOD) will lead a team of multidisciplinary practitioners to deliver high quality, safe and effective responses. This position will report to the Senior Aboriginal Practice Leader on a day-to-day basis at the Orange Door and to the Orange Door Services Leader at Boorndawan. The team is responsible for assisting and developing the Outer East Orange Door Aboriginal Team to deliver effective and responsive services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people seeking support who are affected by family violence.</p>
<h3>KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY</h3>
<p><strong>Practice Leadership</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provide leadership, supervision and support to practitioners from the Aboriginal Team at The Orange Door.</li>
<li>Ensure the Hub is adequately staffed and rosters are up to date to ensure the delivery of service to Aboriginal families.</li>
<li>Monitor and ensure the performance of the team and individuals against key performance indicators.</li>
<li>Work with staff to identify professional development opportunities.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Case Planning Review and Case Management</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Hold a small case load.</li>
<li>Coordinate and lead the planning, review and management of casework for the Aboriginal team.</li>
<li>Support the team with intake and assessment and offer expertise in complex case consultations.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Engagement of Key Stakeholders</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Work collaboratively with Victoria Police, Child Protection and other community organisations and stakeholders.</li>
<li>Represent BWAHS on various external networks and forums as required.</li>
<li>Provide consultation with other staff within The Orange Door when the Aboriginal Practice Leader is not available or when required by Practice Leader or practitioners.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Culturally Informed Practice</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Contribute to a culturally informed practice.</li>
<li>Contribute to a positive and culturally safe workspace.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Manage Risk</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provide an escalation point for high-risk cases and assist in the development and implementation of risk management plans and procedures for these cases.</li>
<li>Ensure that all staff complete full MARAM training and complete full risk assessments with presenting clients using this assessment.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Training and Professional Development / Capability Development</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Participate in training and development activities designed to build capability in order to work effectively in The Orange Door environment.</li>
<li>Participate in formal supervision, performance development and management as per the home agency requirements.</li>
<li>Provide leadership and coaching to the team in order to ensure that they deliver consistent and quality services to the clients.</li>
<li>Plan and deliver onboarding and induction to new workers in the team.</li>
<li>Provide advocacy and advice with regard to the training and development needs of the team in order to guide the development of training opportunities and materials and assist them to access professional development options.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Administration</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ensure that all client information is recorded on the CRM system in a timely fashion, in accordance with the BWAHS and TOD data collection requirements.</li>
<li>Ensure that all documentation relating to the provision of brokerage is filed and submitted in accordance with the BWAHS Brokerage and Funding Policy and Procedure.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Policies, Procedures and Systems</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Comply with all BWAHS and TOD policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Proactively communicate, identify, report and assess WHS related risks and hazards.</li>
</ul>
<h3>KEY SELECTION CRITERIA</h3>
<ul>
<li>A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Social Sciences, Social Welfare Psychology, or a related discipline is preferred, or a willingness to work towards a qualification.</li>
<li>An understanding of the historical and contemporary issues that impact the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their communities.</li>
<li>An understanding of the impacts of family violence on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities.</li>
<li>The ability to support and manage a team to provide an immediate response, risk assessment and planning to meet the client&rsquo;s needs.</li>
<li>Demonstrated practical experience in working with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.</li>
<li>Experience in developing and maintaining referral services networks.</li>
<li>A demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders from all backgrounds.</li>
<li>A demonstrated knowledge and application of relevant Acts and Standards, ethical principles and legislation governing professional practice.</li>
<li>Established written and communication skills.</li>
<li>Sound judgement and decision-making skills with the ability to work autonomously and flexibly in a changing environment.</li>
<li>Possess an understanding of Child Safe Standards and the <em>Children, Youth and Families Act 1995 </em>(Vic), and their application.</li>
<li>Willingness to undertake training and professional development opportunities as required.</li>
</ul>
<h3>CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT</h3>

<li>Current Victorian Driver&rsquo;s License</li>
<li>Current Working with Children&rsquo;s Check</li>
<li>Undertake National Police Check</li>
