Are you seeking a role with a values-driven for purpose organization where you can support young people in our community? Are you an experienced community services manager passionate about supporting Young People access Housing? Lead a skilled team to deliver housing and tenancy support for vulnerable young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

This full-time role of Housing Service Manager supports our mission by leading a team of Youth Housing Specialists to provide a range of housing and support to young people and young families in properties managed by BYS and in other forms of housing including social housing and private rental. The team also provide mobile support to young people and young families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

You’ll be a great candidate for this role if you:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Leadership and Management, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services or comparable qualification OR have substantial demonstrated experience in a related field.
  • Have previous management experience in the not-for-profit sector, with the ability to lead, inspire and effectively manage a team of professional staff and interns.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the responsibilities of a community housing provider in accordance with the National Regulatory System Community Housing, the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008, and Community Housing Tenancy Management Policy 2020
  • Demonstrated experience in managing case management support, and housing management services
  • Highly developed critical thinking, problem solving and risk management skills and demonstrated application of these in a frontline service delivery setting.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong leadership, exercising a high degree of autonomy, initiative, judgement, strategic decision making and risk management.

Given the work that we do there will be a few non-negotiables. You’ll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement:

  • Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card].
  • National Police Check clearance.
  • Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases - Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella [Chicken Pox]; Pertussis [Whooping Cough]; and COVID-19.
