We support young people and their children who are at risk and experiencing homelessness, to secure and maintain housing, address physical and mental health challenges, establish successful relationships and support networks, and access pathways to education and employment.

This part-time position supports our mission by providing support to young people aged 12 to 15 years and their families, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, targeting conflict resolution and improved relationships within families.

You’ll be a great candidate for this role if you have :

  • A Cert IV in Youth Work or comparable qualification OR substantial demonstrated experience in a related field
  • Experience providing safe and appropriate accommodation and support to young people and respond to their needs by providing supervision, emotional support, social and living skills development, conflict resolution
  • Experience developing and facilitating Activities for young people that will enhance their living skills and help them achieve the goals
  • Experience working holistically with vulnerable young people and their families, building trusting relationships and delivering solution focused crisis and brief interventions
  • Strong communication skills, including interpersonal skills and writing skills and the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of others
  • Experience collecting and maintaining accurate, timely client data and contributing to program-specific and organisation-wide monitoring, evaluation and learning activities

Given the work that we do there will be a few non-negotiables. You’ll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement:

  • Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card].
  • National Police Check clearance.
  • Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases - Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella [Chicken Pox]; Pertussis [Whooping Cough]; Hepatitis B and COVID-19.
