Are you seeking a role with a values-driven for purpose organisation where you can support young people in our community? Are you passionate about supporting young women to overcome homelessness? Provide information, advice and advocacy for young women to improve young women’s experiences in the community

This full-time position of Young Women’s Support Worker supports our mission providing case work support and information and referral assistance to young women aged 12 – 25 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

You’ll be a great candidate for this role if you have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or comparable qualification OR substantial demonstrated experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated skills in applying strengths-based and feminist frameworks.
  • The ability to establish, implement and monitor case management support to young women to overcome homelessness and transition to independence
  • Experience providing information, advice and advocacy to young women to increase to improve young women’s experiences in the community and reduce their risk of homelessness
  • Experience working with young women and their accompanying children affected by domestic and family violence, and an understanding of the gendered analysis of domestic and family violence.
  • Strong communication skills including advocacy, critical thinking and self-reflection.

Given the work that we do there will be a few non-negotiables.

You’ll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement:

  • Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card].
  • National Police Check clearance.
  • Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases - Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella [Chicken Pox]; Pertussis [Whooping Cough]; Hepatitis B and COVID-19.
