Consumer Action Law Centre (CALC) and the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS) are excited to establish an exciting new initiative to provide culturally safe financial advice to First Nations peoples in Victoria. We have created this Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified role, integral to the collaborative partnership.
In this role, you will offer financial counselling services, including intake, referrals, and support via in-person, phone, and chat. You will also engage in casework, contribute to policy and campaign initiatives, and help design and deliver sector training. Additionally, you will support community and sector engagement, working closely with CALC's First Nations Engagement Lead. You will split your time between working at CALC's office in the CBD and VALS's office in Preston.
You are passionate about supporting First Nations communities and providing culturally safe financial advice. You have the ability to work collaboratively with financial counsellors, lawyers, and policy staff. You are committed to making a difference and have the skills and experience required to achieve positive financial outcomes for First Nations clients.
