Camberwell Grammar School is an independent Anglican day school for boys from Pre-Preparatory to Year 12. ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a full-time 2-year contract position with the possibility to extend.
The Sustainability Project Coordinator at Camberwell Grammar School will be responsible for leading and implementing the school's sustainability initiatives, with a key focus on achieving net zero emissions by 2030 and with the ultimate goal of being considered climate positive beyond this. This includes, but is not limited to, the initial focus on implementing the 2023-2026 Sustainability Action Plans, identifying and evaluating environmental risks and opportunities, and promoting sustainable practices among staff, students and the wider Camberwell Community.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of a comprehensive suite of sustainability projects and programs developed in consultation with the School and CERES Consulting.
- Identify and evaluate environmental risks and opportunities within the school and develop strategies to mitigate or capitalise on these.
- Assist the Project Team in promoting sustainable practices among staff, students, and the wider community, through education, communication, and engagement programs.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to advance sustainability initiatives, including efforts to reach net zero.
- Monitor and report on progress towards sustainability goals, targets and carbon emission reductions.

ABOUT YOU
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with sustainability reporting and measurement frameworks such as ISO 14001 and scope emissions and calculation methods as defined by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP)
- Experience working in a school setting or with educational programs is a plus
- Knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals is a plus
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in sustainability, environmental science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in sustainability or environmental management
- Valid Working with Children Check
- National Crime Check
