The opportunity

As the SunSmart Education Coordinator, you will work with schools and education & care services and be responsible for the planning, implementation, administration and review of the National SunSmart Schools and National SunSmart Services skin cancer prevention programs in Western Australia.

Based in Subiaco, this position is full-time.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Coordinating skin cancer prevention projects targeting children in education settings
  • Administering the National SunSmart Schools and National SunSmart Services Program in Western Australia, including maintaining quality standards, record-keeping, promotion, research, and evaluation
  • Maintaining program budget, reporting and documentation
  • Managing stakeholders and representing Cancer Council WA on committees and working parties
  • Collaborating with other staff to plan and implement professional learning for stakeholders
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Contributing to other skin cancer prevention activities as part of the SunSmart team

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A tertiary qualification in health promotion, education or related field
  • Experience working within the education sector in Western Australia
  • Experience in building and maintaining stakeholder relationships
  • Knowledge of cancer control issues
  • High level of computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft suite, databases and experience with websites
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and resource development
  • A proven ability to attend to fine details in program planning, delivery and evaluation
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the values of Cancer Council WA
  • Positive approach to the workplace
