Candlebark Community Nursery (Inc) is a self-supporting, not-for-profit organisation established in 1994, dedicated to helping local people improve the natural environment. We grow local native (indigenous) plants from seed or cuttings for revegetation projects and local gardens. Our retail area is open to the public for plant sales.
We promote community connection and provide educational and practical opportunities for everyone involved. We celebrate diversity and value everyone’s skills and potential. We are a warm and welcoming group which has been in existence for 30 years. After the difficulties of the Covid lockdowns, we are planning for our organisation’s future with enthusiasm.
We are a not-for-profit organisation in urgent need of a suitably qualified person to fill the role of Treasurer on the Candlebark Community Nursery Inc. Management Committee.
Experience of providing accounting advice to a horticultural business would be useful, but not essential. The committee meets monthly at the nursery site in Mooroolbark or online via Teams. If you have book-keeping skills and knowledge of accounting software, we would love to hear from you.
To a large extent, this will be up to you. The nursery manager already organises the bank accounts, deposits cash and manages EFTPOS, pays the bills and keeps track of the books, but we would value someone with formal accounting/book-keeping knowledge and experience of Xero to provide advice on various financial matters and ideally prepare a monthly report.
Thank you for your interest in our nursery and helping the environment. We hope this is the beginning of a very rewarding experience for you.
Please contact Debbie Shaw on (03) 9727 0594 or 0494 088 804 and leave a message, or email [email protected] using the subject line: Treasurer (Voluntary) enquiry via EthicalJobs.
