Canteen and Cancer Hub have developed a Culturally Responsive Framework which identifies how Canteen and Cancer Hub work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander children, young people and their families. Canteen, Camp Quality and Redkite (Alliance Partners) are working together to provide Cancer Hub – a digital hub to help families impacted by cancer more easily access the practical and emotional support they need, when they need it.
Canteen is dedicated to supporting young people and their families affected by cancer. Founded by young cancer patients, our mission is to provide essential programs, services, and resources that positively impact the lives of 12–25-year-olds facing their own diagnosis, dealing with a close family member's cancer, or grieving the loss of a loved one. We believe in the transformative power of our team, and together, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
The Intake and Assessment Practitioner at Cancer Hub serves as the first point of contact for service users and referrers, conducting initial assessments, determining appropriate care pathways, and coordinating necessary interventions, such as risk assessments and safety plans. With extensive knowledge of Cancer Hub, Camp Quality, Redkite, and Canteen services, the practitioner helps service users understand their needs and access the right support. The successful applicant for this role will bring specialist knowledge and expertise in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, recognising and addressing their unique cultural, social, and emotional needs.
We connect, we empower, we challenge, and we are real. These values ground the way we work at Canteen and Cancer Hub, and underpin a culture that brings people together, collectively, in an inspiring and positive way. Being a part of our team offers you a rewarding, purposeful and genuine experience, with endless opportunities. Find out more on our LinkedIn Life Page.
