Canteen, Camp Quality and Redkite (Alliance Partners) are working together to provide Cancer Hub – a digital hub to help families impacted by cancer more easily access the practical and emotional support they need, when they need it. Canteen is all about supporting young people and their families affected by cancer. Founded by young cancer patients, we offer programs and resources that truly make a difference for 12-25 year-olds facing their own diagnosis, supporting a loved one, or grieving. Together, we believe our team can create real change!

We are now seeking a Senior National Intake Support Officer (SNISO), who will play a pivotal role in being the first point of contact for all young people, families and referrers seeking support from Cancer Hub and Alliance Partner services.

The Senior National Intake Support Officer (SNISO) will provide support and guidance to National Intake Support Officer’s (NISOs) within the National Intake Team within Cancer Hub. SNISO will support the NISOs by assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring their work is up to date, while keeping the Team Leader informed.

  • Base Salary + Superannuation + Not-For-Profit Salary Packaging (up to $18,550 of your salary tax-free).

About our role

  • Service Delivery: Deliver first point of contact support via telephone or email, providing information about Cancer Hub, Canteen, Camp Quality and Redkite and the intake process as well as administrative tasks such as booking appointments and data collection/documentation.
  • Senior Responsibilities: Provide support to the National Intake Support Officers, oversee and support with the reviewing and implementation of processes and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Contribute to key stakeholder relationships, working collaboratively with all services under Cancer Hub, Alliance Partners and other stakeholders to ensure young people and families receive access to the supports that best meet their needs.
  • Team Collaboration and Program Development: Collaborate and consult with peers/across Cancer Hub/Canteen/Alliance; sharing practice through teaching and learning opportunities; supporting and contributing to team projects and overall development of the service.

About You

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience handling sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professional administrative responsibilities such as case notes, report writing, data entry and other communications in a timely manner.
  • High level communication and networking skills.
  • Excellent computer and digital communication skills including in the use of MS products and Salesforce (or similar CMS).
  • Demonstrated customer service experience and a warm and empathetic approach to responding to inbound enquiries from a range of stakeholders such as health/service professionals, bereaved families, cancer patients, and young people.
  • Experience with Medicare billing (not essential but preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills across a variety of mediums.
  • Willingness to participate in supervision (group and individual) and team meetings.
  • Flexibility to travel interstate if, and when required.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Employment Expectations
