Canteen is dedicated to supporting young people and their families affected by cancer. Founded by young cancer patients, our mission is to provide essential programs, services, and resources that positively impact the lives of 12-25 year-olds facing their own diagnosis, dealing with a close family member's cancer, or grieving the loss of a loved one. We believe in the transformative power of our team, and together, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Canteen’s success is built on the capability and motivation of its people. We are now seeking a State Support Officer to join our Victoria team where you will play a key role in supporting the local service team, office and community stakeholders. This is a high-impact role for someone with strong administrative experience, comfort with systems and with a natural ability to connect and support.

  • Base Salary + Superannuation + Not-For-Profit Salary Packaging (up to $15,900 of your salary tax-free).

About our role

  • Providing administrative and logistical support to our service team as they run events and programs for young people.
  • Ensure the smooth running of the office in Melbourne.
  • Deliver on our stakeholder engagement strategy and help ensure strong relationships with referrers, fundraisers and health networks.
  • Process invoices and provide other administrative support to financial, office and team functions.
  • Be our local CMS and systems champion and support the service team in their effective uses.
  • Work closely with our National Fundraising Team to assist in delivery of local events and support our local fundraisers.

About You

  • Proficiency in computer skills (eg MS Office, Client Management Systems such as Salesforce) and adaptability to learning new systems.
  • Project support and planning experience.
  • Basic knowledge of account and book-keeping tasks.
  • At least 2 year’s proven experience in a similar position is desirable.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • High level of integrity and honesty.
  • Proven track record as a team player, with a flexible approach to all tasks.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a natural ability to connect.
  • A compassionate values-based approach.

*Due to the nature of Canteen’s work, you will be required to (very) occasionally work weekends and evenings. Advance notice will be given when this is the case, and Canteen does have a Time off in Lieu policy for taking leave as agreed with the supervising manager.

Employment Expectations
