About the Opportunity

Are you looking for casual work and keen to make a positive impact on young people? As a Casual Youth Services Officer, you will co-facilitate recreation and life skills programs/events as well as engage and support young people who attend My Place Youth Centre.

You will make an impact by

• Engaging and supporting young people who access My Place Youth Centre.
• Ensuring the youth centre is activated and resources are up to date.
• Assisting youth services staff in delivering programs on topics important to young people.
• Developing strategies to encourage youth participation.
• Keeping young people safe in activities and programs.

What you will bring

• Tertiary qualification in youth work, social work, psychology, welfare, sociology, or a relevant discipline.
• Ability to engage and support a diverse cohort of young people.
• Knowledge of the key principles and practices to keep young people safe from harm and abuse.
• Ability to undertake needs assessment, referral, advocacy, and support for young people.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to form effective working relationships with stakeholders.
• Ability to embrace and behave in accordance with Cardinia’s Corporate Values.
