The Opportunity

The People & Culture team at CARE Australia is looking for a highly motivated and organised HR administrator!

CARE Australia (part of CARE International) is an international aid organisation working to defeat global poverty by supporting women to create lasting change in their communities around the world.

Reporting directly to the Head of People & Culture and working closely with both the Head and P&C Advisor, you will act as the first point of contact for all P&C related queries. This role will play an important part in the delivery of employee experience at CARE Australia. In this busy, varied role you will provide support with all aspects of the employee life cycle. This role may also assist with administration support to other key stakeholders within CARE.

Your daily responsibilities will include a variety of administrative tasks such as processing new starters and leavers, contractual changes, supporting recruitment, managing databases, reporting onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, learning and development and more.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • General HR administration covering the employee life cycle, database management, reporting and checklists to ensure compliance
  • Coordinating the onboarding and offboarding of employees including preparing and facilitating employment contracts and other letters related to the employee lifecycle and managing pre-employment checks
  • Recruitment and sourcing administration and coordination in partnership with hiring managers
  • Providing general administrative support to the P&C team, including performance management and training and development activities
  • Taking a lead role in ensuring high standards and adherence to quality and safety procedures
  • Supporting people leaders with recruitment related systems and processes
  • Support the administration of People & Culture initiatives and programs and more!

Ideally you will have:

  • Exceptional support, organisational and administration skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail and proven high level time management skills including the ability to manage workflows and balance competing priorities to ensure timely processing to meet deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft 365 and experience with HRIS (or other database) systems including regular reporting
  • Experience supporting a People & Culture team with administration and P&C processes
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organisation.
  • Previous experience within a NFP will be highly regarded
  • Knowledge of SCHADS Award (desirable)

This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys coordinating and supporting people and processes! Ideally, you will have prior experience in recruitment or HR support roles.
