About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Manager, NSW Cardiovascular Research Network (CVRN) to oversee the day-to-day operations of the CVRN, a collaborative network of leading cardiovascular researchers and institutions across NSW.

This role is pivotal in fostering partnerships, managing research grants, and delivering strategic initiatives that build research capacity in cardiovascular health. You will work closely with key stakeholders, including government agencies, research organisations, and industry leaders, to drive meaningful impact in cardiovascular research.

You will have the opportunity to work flexibly, blending your time between home and our Sydney office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the operations of the CVRN, including stakeholder engagement and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide secretariat support to the CVRN Executive Committee and Rising Stars Sub-Committee.
  • Develop and manage research grant programs, ensuring transparent processes and peer review.
  • Organise capacity-building workshops, networking events, and the annual Showcase & Ministerial Awards Ceremony.
  • Foster collaboration between NSW research institutions, government agencies, and academic bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, particularly with the NSW Office of Health and Medical Research.
  • Lead and support a small team to deliver CVRN's key programs and activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cardiovascular researchers and institutions.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a medical research, health, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of the health and medical research landscape in NSW and Australia.
  • Experience in project management, grant administration, or research strategy development.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organisational and event management capabilities, with attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication skills to engage diverse audiences, including government, researchers, and donors.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
