As Team Leader – Employment Outcomes you will possess specialist knowledge in Employment Services and assist and empower clients to achieve life changing employment goals.

Reporting to our Client Services Coordinator, the successful candidate will have an immediate focus on our ADE activities but have the passion and capability, over time, to focus on disability employment in the broader context.

You will forge a strong working partnership with the managers of Caringa Employment Services and Caringa’s Systems and Compliance Officer.
Our ideal candidate will lead a team of Support Workers to deliver quality / person-centred / customer focused outcomes for the clients being supported.

In this role your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Providing comprehensive case management services to clients to assist them to manage employment related barriers, equipping them with the necessary tools and skills to enter the workforce
  • Secure sustainable employment opportunities for participants
  • Provide ongoing support to clients and employers to maximise employment outcomes
  • Maintain a high level of administration and documentation, compliance and time management
  • Engage with both internal and external partners to connect clients with various wrap-around services such as training providers, allied health services and other community based organisations
  • Build a professional relationship with clients at differing stages in their employment journey
  • Provide a positive and supportive environment for people with disability to assist them with reaching their goals of finding and sustaining employment
  • Create and seek opportunities that enables an individual to reach their own potential as a valued member of their community
  • Facilitate individual activities, using a variety of enabling styles including but not limited to job readiness skills, volunteering / work experience, and confidence building
  • Ensure efficiency and compliance with NDIS administrative processes

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant qualifications (Cert III) and equivalent experience in disability services industry.
  • Previous employment services or case management experience is desirable.
  • A commitment to understanding contemporary disability employment opportunities, funding streams and training resources in relation to:
    • Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE)
    • Customised employment (including job carving)
    • Micro enterprise support and development
    • School Leaver Employment Supports
    • Disability Employment Services (DES) and
    • Registered Training Organisations (RTOs)
  • Knowledge of the local labour market
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NDIS practice standards and NSW Restrictive Practice legislation & protocols
  • Current NSW Driver’s License - Minimum Class C
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Must have an NDIS Worker Check Clearance (employee responsibility)
  • Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation & Supporting Effective Communication modules (NDIS Commission website)
  • Current and clear Working with Children Check (Employee) or be able to obtain one prior to commencement of employment (employee responsibility)
  • To be proactive, showing initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Resilience and patient, with the ability to work with complex behaviours
  • Proven experience in enabling people with disability to meet their employment goals (desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate through various methods with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Disability Employment Services - Supported Wage System for Open Employment Assessment Guidelines
  • Strong Quality Systems outlook
  • Experience in facilitating individual and group educational activities
  • High level of customer service skills, networking and stakeholder engagement skills
