Carinity Education – Southside is an independent special assistance girl’s school providing secondary education, vocational training and mentoring for students in Years 7 – 12, many of whom identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Students are treated with unconditional positive regard at all times. Many of the young women are from backgrounds of trauma, abuse and neglect, and have complex needs.

About the role

Carinity Education - Southside has an opportunity for a full-time Grounds Maintenance Officer to join the team on a permanent basis. The Grounds Maintenance Officer will maintain and enhance the facilities, grounds, gardens and buildings of the school ensuring a presentable appearance for the enjoyment of students, visitors and staff.

This is a fixed term contract until 29th March 2024.

What do I need for the role?

  • Previous experience in a similar position
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety Standards applicable to this role
  • Highly developed interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to positively relate to all staff, students, families (Parents/Carers) and other key stakeholder
  • Hold a current open drivers’ licence

Desirable:

  • Ability to use a ride on mower and tractor
