What does the role involve?

The Community Engagement Animator coordinates and develops relationships at regional level with Diocesan Directors, Diocesan Agencies, Clergy, Catholic Education Offices and other Catholic Agencies to facilitate connection with the Australian Catholic community. Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

• Expand Diocesan Director network, offer guidance, implement regional engagement strategy.
• Building strong relationships with regional Bishops, Church leaders, and educators, fostering collaboration to advance Caritas Australia's mission. Establish an ambassador network to engage each school and parish in the Australian Catholic community.
• Collaborate with Caritas Australia teams, develop resources, drive fundraising campaigns to the Australian Catholic community.
• Monitor, evaluate programs and engagement levels, provide regular reports to Archdiocese and Caritas Australia on regional activities to ensure achievement of outcomes and continuous improvement.

This role is based in our Mascot office and will work a hybrid model, including two days in the office per week.

Who are we looking for?

For this role, we are seeking a highly organised and dynamic individual, who is committed to making a difference in the world. The successful candidate will have a mix of the following qualifications, skills and experience:

• Extensive experience in community engagement, outreach, or ministry roles within school, Church, Diocesan, or Not-for-Profit environments
• Demonstrated willingness to work collaboratively with Archdiocesan authorities, agencies, parishes, schools, and the broader community
• A strong commitment to the Mission of Caritas Australia, in our quest to end poverty through the full realisation of human dignity and wellbeing for all, and to the Catholic Social Teaching principles which underpin our work globally
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, adept at dynamic presentations (online & in-person) using Zoom, Teams. Strong written and verbal communication
