<li>Salary range Level 5.1 CASV pay above award rates $52.73 plus Salary packaging available.</li>
</ul>
The Centre Against Sexual Violence (CASV) aims to provide a service that facilitates the recovery and healing for women, transgender, non-binary &amp; gender diverse people, from age 12 and over, who have experienced historical sexual assault and recent sexual assault.
The Intake and Brief Intervention Worker is an integral part of the service provision team at CASV.
Providing high quality brief counselling and support to women, transgender, non-binary &amp; gender diverse people aged 12 years and over who have experienced past or sexual assault in Logan or Redlands and Beaudesert.
Working within the guidelines of CASV&rsquo;s policies and procedures, strategic plan and operational plan, this position includes:
<h3>Duties and responsibilities:</h3>
<ul>
<li>High quality, crisis response, assessment and triaging skills to assess safety and stability, and readiness for counselling.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Provide brief intervention, referrals, advocacy, psychoeducation, brief-counselling and practical supports to build resilience and support</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Be the first point of call for in-coming referrals to complete intake and assess suitability for services, either brief intervention or long-term therapeutic supports.</li>
<li>Triage and assess referrals based on needs, vulnerabilities and prioritise supports as required.</li>
<li>Provide brief intervention supports for women, transgender, non-binary &amp; gender diverse people 12 years and over, impacted by Sexual Violence,</li>
<li>Support with Victims Assist QLD applications, court support, advice, practical supports, psychoeducation, risk and safety planning and external referrals.</li>
<li>Manage and monitor the Counselling waitlist and conduct check in calls to continually assess suitability/readiness for longer-term therapeutic supports.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Provide a crisis response to women, transgender, non-binary &amp; gender diverse people 12 years and over, who have experienced recent sexual assault and be versed in risk and safety planning.</li>
<li>Provide support to clients through requisite medical and/or police procedures.</li>
<li>Provide information and support to support persons, where appropriate.</li>
<li>May be required to co-facilitate therapeutic and support groups.</li>
<li>May be required to develop and implement community education.</li>
<li>Engage in reflective practice of intake and brief intervention service provision on a regular basis evaluating the effectiveness of the intake and brief intervention functions;</li>
<li>Participating in the development, implementation and review of appropriate and effective policies and procedures that relate to the provision of counselling services to a diverse range of women, transgender, non-binary &amp; gender diverse people,</li>
<li>Where resources permit, attend network meetings and provide education to the community.</li>
<li>To actively and effectively participate as a member of the Centre staff team to achieve and maintain an effective, efficient, and accountable organisation that reflects the philosophy of the CASV.</li>
<li>Adhere to and contribute to a safe workplace for all staff, Management Committee members, service users and visitors as per Workplace Health and Safety Policy.</li>
</ul>

<li>Complete all case notes and reporting requirements as required</li>
</ul>
<h3>Position Requirements:</h3>
<ul>
<li>Qualifications in Social and Behavioural Sciences, Counselling, Psychology, or a related field.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Experience in sexual assault or domestic and family violence counselling/crisis intervention is highly desirable with an ability to articulate your understanding and implementation of trauma informed practice and principles&rsquo;</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Identify with and be able to work within a feminist framework.</li>
<li>Work within a participatory model of decision making, planning and evaluation</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Possession of a current "C" class driver&rsquo;s licence.</li>
<li>Possession of or willingness to obtain a Positive Blue Card.</li>
</ul>
<h3>Key selection criteria</h3>
<ul>
<li>SC1. Demonstrated possession of tertiary qualifications, experience and/or understanding of working in the delivery of counselling services to address/respond to violence against women and children.</li>
<li>SC2. Comprehensive understanding of the causes and effects of sexual violence against women.</li>
<li>SC3. Well-developed framework for the provision of high-quality intake and crisis intervention services to Women of diverse backgrounds and ability to assess risk and safety.</li>
<li>SC4 Highly developed organisation/ time management and recording keeping skills and understanding of consent and limitations and information sharing guidelines and legislation related to Sexual Assault.</li>
<li>SC5. Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, and the capacity to deliver information to a broad cross section of people.</li>
<li>SC6. Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of participative decision-making; planning and evaluation processes; effective team practices; and the principles of social justice.</li>
