About the role

The role of the Child Care Educator, in the Early Learning Centre (ELC) is to assist the Director/Teacher and the team in providing high quality care and education for children in a community preschool setting for 3–5-year-olds.

Unlike a typical Early Learning Centre, we are open for 50 weeks in a year, Monday to Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm.

Duties

  • Assisting the room teacher with the implementation of a well-planned and evaluated program for 3–5-year-olds, using the Early Years Framework.
  • Developing a positive and supportive relationship with children.
  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Working with the team to ensure a compliant centre as per the Education and Care Services Regulations .
  • Establishing and maintaining good relationships with families.

Requirements

  • Completion of CHCPRT025 'Identify & report children & young people at risk’ or willing to obtain
  • Current and valid Working with Children Check clearance.
  • Certificate III qualifications Early Childhood Education or working towards
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis
