About the role

Our St John the Baptist Early Learning Centre is a purpose-built preschool on the grounds of St John the Baptist Catholic Primary School.

At our Early Learning Centre we provide a range of activities for children aged between 3 and 5 years of age so that each child can engage in something they are interested in.

We are looking for an Early Childhood Teacher to work Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm. The successful candidate will work alongside the Director with supporting and implementing the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and the Education and Care Services National Regulations.

You will

  • Work alongside the director to provide high-quality care and education.
  • When required perform tasks associated with being a Responsible Person in Charge.
  • Ensure a welcoming, safe, hygienic environment, reflective of best practices.
  • Assist with the planning, implementing and evaluation of programs.
  • Create a fun and engaging environment through play experiences.
  • Develop positive and supportive relationships with children and families.
  • Form collaborative and positive relationship with colleagues.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Working With Children check clearance.
  • Completion of CHCPRT025 "Identify & report children and young people at risk" certificate or willingness to obtain.

Highly Desirable

  • Degree in Early Childhood Teacher Education or studying towards 4th year qualification.
  • Experience working with school aged children, including children with special needs.
  • Ability to implement good practices in relation to guiding children’s behaviour.
  • First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain one before starting.
