This role will be a new addition to our Property Team who oversee and maintains our diverse property portfolio including residential property leases, owned residential properties, commercial property leases and unique owned properties delivering the services provided by CatholicCare. The team also oversee the Motor Vehicle Fleet assets along with providing resources to our Home Maintenance Support contracts in the aged care sector.

About the role:

Due to rapid growth and expansion of our Services, a newly created opportunity is now available for an experienced and motivated Facilities & Assets Manager to join the Team on a permanent full-time basis.

The main purpose of the role is to create and support a team to provide hands on oversight and undertaking of the maintenance requirements across the property portfolio, ensuring periodic maintenance is undertaken, reacting promptly to urgent maintenance requirements, scheduling appropriate staffing and ensuring that the fleet of motor vehicles is appropriately maintained.

The Facilities and Asset Manager will also assist in project management of small building renovation and improvement projects as well as have input and provide support to major property developments undertaken by the agency from time to time.

Based at our Head Office in Pennant Hills, there will be a requirement for travel between CatholicCare sites across the Diocese (Central Coast, Northern Sydney and the Northern Beaches) and the wider community. The successful incumbent can also be based on the Central Coast.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has an extensive building (trades) or property management background and enjoys leading a multi-disciplinary team!

Key responsibilities:

  • Undertake scheduled and planned maintenance activities across the property portfolio.
  • Undertake emergency maintenance and repair work across the properties.
  • Perform pre-lease and pre-purchase inspections of new properties.
  • Co-ordinate and undertake pre-occupation modifications to properties prior to occupation.
  • Co-ordinate and undertake lease exit repairs and retro fit to properties prior to exit.
  • Schedule resourcing and provide quality services to support the properties.
  • Sourcing of new properties as per Service Requirements.
  • Oversee the development of a property register and maintenance system.
  • Develop Asset Management Plans for owned assets.
  • Establish and Maintain Relationships with Key Contractors.
  • Oversee maintenance of Motor Vehicle Fleet.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree qualifications in Building or Construction or Trade Qualification in Building, Carpentry or associated trade disciplines.
  • Holing a Builders Licence is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated working experience in building maintenance and construction.
  • Good knowledge of current building code requirements.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a small team.
  • High level time management, scheduling and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an excellent ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • High level computer literacy and demonstrated ability to drive process improvements in the property management area of expertise including use of property management software systems.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Reliable, excellent organisational and time management skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
